Take This Stone ( Place It Upon Your Heart )

Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt
Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt

Gently, calm the frantic beat of your aching heart
Release the valve before it blows itself apart
Ease the pressure on that pump in your breast
Weigh it down before it tears a hole in your chest
It cannot reason with the scale of her treason
The mask is off, the hate is out in the open

Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt
Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt

She stabbed repeatedly, with a song on her lips
She danced over your body, with leaps and skips
She checked the recipe all the while
She watched you bleed with a smile
Whatever took place she did it willingly
The look on her face!! She did it killingly

Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt
Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt

Your own flesh and blood now smear you with mud
Their natural love ran dry as you drowned in the flood
The apple of your eye is the one who twisted the knife
Your one true love casually switched off your life
You are all alone, turn your heart to stone
Build a wall around, turn your heart to stone

Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt
Take this stone, place it upon your heart
The less it moves the less you will hurt.

The Knowing

You know
You can SEE it or it’s invisible
If it’s possible or impossible
You know
If you can or if you cannot
If you will or you will not
You know
If you will fail or succeed
If you have a fertile seed
You know
If you will be rich or poor
It’s an open window or a closed door
You know
If by the gods you have been blessed
If by fickle Fate you have been cursed
You know
If it’s to be a famine or a feast
If you will have many or the least
You know
If you will be laughing or crying
If you will be living or dying
You know
If your time is coming or going
It is all in the knowing

And you know it.

Let’s Do The Deal

In this day and age it’s all about presentation
You have to play the part to appease public opinion
You’re somebody’s mother, sister, little baby
You’re so prim and proper, a real lady
After a date it’s just a simple kiss
I’ve got one thing to say — suck this!
I know you’re willing and able
Let’s put our cards on the table

Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?
Let’s do the deal
You can beg, borrow, or steal
Let’s do the deal
I don’t care how you feel
Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?

From the cave, to the mansion, to the space station
There’s a price to pay for every basic transaction
You want a solid roof over your head
You want to sleep safe and warm in bed
Clothes on your back, ring on your finger
Handbags, shoes, things that really matter
I don’t care about your airs and graces
Take all your masks off all your faces

Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?
Let’s do the deal
You can beg, borrow, or steal
Let’s do the deal
I don’t care how you feel
Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?

Do you have goods and services to trade
Get busy wheeling and dealing, or get laid
Who told you life is easy peezy
Who told you the world is lemon squeezy
Caring and sharing? You are mistaken
Learn to give and take, or be taken
We can do the business and call it romance
Lead us all on a merry song and dance

Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?
Let’s do the deal
You can beg, borrow, or steal
Let’s do the deal
I don’t care how you feel
Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?

Who told you life was a bed of roses?
Who told you to be one of the lost causes?
Life is a bed of nails covered with thorns
Life is wild animals thrusting their horns
Lust and hunger and fear are the driving forces
Feed your appetite, take control of the sources
It’s dog eat dog, it’s eat or be eaten
Life is death for those who are beaten

Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?
Tell me, how does it feel?
To know you have to deal
To pay for your next meal
Tell me, how does it feel?
Let’s do the deal
What price your next meal?

A Paki Still

My father came to this country in 1952
Worked like a dog, swept the floor, other jobs
The white boys turned their noses up at
Paid half the money, twenty men sharing a house
Sending money back home — work, sleep, work
Built this country — damp, foggy, miserable
No roads, no cars, no shopping centres, no Empire;
By the time he was old this was a different land
He helped to build this country, but got no credit for it
When he died he was still a Paki.

I came to this country, a young boy, in 1966
Educated here, went to work, raised a family
Read, write, speak, understand English better than …
Taught to walk the straight and narrow
Do the right thing, in my father’s footsteps …
But I am still a Paki.

My son was born here, English to the bone
A beautiful young man, the apple of my eye
Intelligent, athletic, loving, respectful
I may be biased, but none can come close
But he is still a Paki.

One day he will have a child
He will pass on the lessons I taught
The wisdom of Ages I learned from my father
Work hard, be good, think of others, smile
Whatever he does, he will be
A Paki still.

Little Mouse

Little mouse, going round and round
Spinning the wheel, having so much fun
Little mouse, keeping fit on the run
Spinning the wheel, covering so much ground
Little mouse, feeling safe and sound
Spinning the wheel, ending where it begun.

Cute little nose going sniff, sniff, sniff
Cute little teeth going nibble, nibble, nibble
Chasing your tail on the edge of a cliff
Cheesy whiskers going dribble, dribble, dribble;
No cats allowed, not a worry in the world
Warm, well-fed, nothing really matters
You get your leg over your mousy-girl …
Look up – you might see the puppet-masters.

Little mouse, going round and round
Spinning the wheel, having so much fun
Little mouse, keeping fit on the run
Spinning the wheel, covering so much ground
Little mouse, feeling safe and sound
Spinning the wheel, ending where it begun.

Inside the cage you are free to ride the wheel
Power belongs to the man who owns the cage
Outside the cage he is free to rob and steal
He decides what is written on history’s page;
They market the treadmill as a spinning wheel
Choose the colour, choose your shiny toy
They bury you alive in a lop-sided deal
The grave is full of so much joy!

Little mouse, going round and round
Spinning the wheel, having so much fun
Little mouse, keeping fit on the run
Spinning the wheel, covering so much ground
Little mouse, feeling safe and sound
Spinning the wheel, ending where it begun.

I’m Not Going To Make It

The light of distant stars is beginning to fade
The moon has no choice but to stay in the shade
My airy fairy dreams were built on sand
One by one each grain is slipping through my hand
It is bad luck, or just something I lack
It is one step forward and three steps back
What I want most is just out of reach
It has always been just … out … of … reach
I tried to aim for the nearest star
But even the nearest was much too far.

The immensity of it all makes me feel so small
The abyss is calling me …
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it
The abyss is calling me …
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it
The abyss is calling me … calling me to fall.

They dangle the prize before my gullible eyes
Use smoke and mirrors to mangle anyone who tries
I was born with nothing, but they promise everything
Fame and fortune, if I dance to their tune, if I sing
Their songs of freedom, democracy, equality
‘We are all the same’, but I have no Equity
I am to blame for being no good at the game
I am to blame for drowning in my own shame
The dreams I dared to dream given the boot
The hopes I cherished the most cut at the root.

The immensity of it all makes me feel so small
The abyss is calling me …
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it
The abyss is calling me …
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it
The abyss is calling me … calling me to fall.

The Big Boys have lined me up for their Big Con
I am looking straight into the barrel of a Big Gun
I am on the ledge looking out at the desolate wasteland
I am on the edge looking down into the pits of a Dark Land
The demons of damnation are howling my name
The burning flames spell out everlasting shame
The hounds of hell are snapping at my heels
Is there one person out there who knows how it feels?
If the light goes out there is nothing left inside
The moment I give up on my dream I commit suicide.

The immensity of it all makes me feel so small
The abyss is calling me …
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it
The abyss is calling me …
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it
The abyss is calling me … calling me to fall …

Oh, god, I have tried so hard
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it
Oh, god, I have tried so hard to reach you
I’m not going to make it
I’m not going to make it.

Take The Light From My Eyes

I stood there as if I had run into a wall
I stood there as if I wasn’t there at all
His name on your lip
Both of you joined at the hip
Watching you buried me alive there and then
It killed me to see you being taken by another man
But if my eyes had not seen your kind
I would have carried on loving you blind.

Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the sight from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you.

How could you deceive
Betray everything I believe
I loved you from the start
You are a traitor to my heart
You betrayed my trust
Just to satisfy your lust
But if my eyes had not seen your kind
I would have carried on loving you blind.

Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the sight from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you.

You spread your legs and moved that way
You arched your back and began to sway
The heat made you moan and groan
You turned round to go down
I was buried alive there and then to see
You doing all the things you did with me
But if my eyes had not seen your kind
I would have carried on loving you blind.

Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the sight from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you.

I’m going insane, I can’t bear the pain
It kills me to see you loving another man
All my systems are on overload
All my organs are about to explode
My eyes are to blame, they must be punished
Begin with my eyes, they must be finished
If my eyes had not seen your kind
I would have carried on loving you blind.

Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the sight from my eyes
They saw you
Take the light, take the light from my eyes
They saw you.

Generally

General Bigstick : “What is Constitution?
A document of twelve pages …
I can tear it into pieces
And throw it away!”

Generally speaking, there are documents
That can tear a man into pieces
And throw him away.

Or, speaking in General,
There are key documents
That can blow your plane into pieces
And throw you all over the sky.

It’s A Pity She’s A Whore

It’s a pity she’s a whore
She’s the curse landed at your door
It’s a pity she’s a whore
You’re not enough, she wants more
It’s a pity she’s a whore
The shame will haunt you evermore.

It’s not your fault, you’re not to blame
It’s what she wants, it’s the way she’s wired
She has to spread her legs, she has to play the game
Different strokes with different blokes keep her fired;
You keep seeing the images in your brain
It breaks your heart, it tortures your head
An ocean of soap can’t remove the stain
You’ve got a poxy whore in your bed.

It’s a pity she’s a whore
She’s the curse landed at your door
It’s a pity she’s a whore
You’re not enough, she wants more
It’s a pity she’s a whore
The shame will haunt you evermore.

She makes eyes at the guys all over town
She takes off her clothes, she offers herself
She moves, she grooves, she goes down …
You’re at home sitting on the shelf;
She’s out of sight but that’s not the issue
Her actions are in your mind taunting you …
After he’s done she wipes it with a tissue
Then walks it back home good as new.

It’s a pity she’s a whore
She’s the curse landed at your door
It’s a pity she’s a whore
You’re not enough, she wants more
It’s a pity she’s a whore
The shame will haunt you evermore.

She’s so dirty, but talks so beautiful
She talks of virtue, and then cheats on you
She talks of faith, and is then unfaithful
She talks of trust, and then betrays you;
You made your bed with a smiling snake
You placed a stone on top of your heart
You put up with it for the children’s sake …
They’ve grown up – it’s time to make a fresh start.

It’s a pity she’s a whore
She’s the curse landed at your door
It’s a pity she’s a whore
You’re not enough, she wants more
It’s a pity she’s a whore
The shame will haunt you evermore.

Betrayal

Carrying a bouquet I quietly opened the door
On the tip of my tongue,’Surprise! Surprise!’
In that instant my heart crashed to the floor
The room was full with your ecstatic sighs
You were calling and crying out for more
He was planted, and still digging, deep between your thighs
You had your loving cup poised to pour …
I will never forget the look in your eyes.
